What information we collect
- When you email us: your name, email address and anything you choose to tell us, such as details about your pet, your address for a home visit, and your pet’s health or medical history.
- When you book a visit: the consultation form asks for your name, email address, home address and contact number; your pet’s name, age, weight (if known) and vet; the treatments you would like; and details about your pet’s health, including any medication, any surgery in the past six months, anywhere on their body they don’t like being touched, and any health concerns you have.
- When you visit this website: anonymous, aggregated statistics (pages viewed, referring site, device type) via Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or track you across other sites.
How and why we use it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange appointments (to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract);
- care for your pet safely, including noting any medical conditions or recent treatment (contract and legitimate interests);
- keep basic business and financial records (legal obligation);
- understand how the website is used so we can improve it (legitimate interests).
We never sell your information or use it for marketing without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We only share information with service providers who help us run the business, such as our email provider (Google) and our website host (Cloudflare). They process data on our behalf and may store it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We do not share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that don’t lead to a booking for 12 months, and customer records for 6 years for tax purposes. After that, we securely delete them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it to be transferred to you or someone else. To make a request, email us using the address above. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) atico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
